Vanessa and I have a feel a deep need and desire to connect with our kids as individuals. We love spending time together as a family, but we also feel it is imperative that we spend one-on-one time with them. Below are two dates that the kids have had with Dad.
First up... Noah!
We have annual passes to our local zoo, The Brevard Zoo. Basically, it's the best zoo in the world! As part of our annual passes we receive two free kayaking passes. They have a small river that ambles around the giraffes, camels, lemurs, etc. Normally, there is a small group of 8-10 people that go on each tour. Today, it was just Noah and Dad. Pretty awesome! We also got to spend some time hanging out at the mere cat exhibit, which, by the way, are my new favorite animals! Very community oriented! They take turns climbing to the highest point of the exhibit to act as a sentinel. Pretty cool! I love the little boy who made me a Dad!
Next up... Ellie!
Ellie's date also was about animals, but not to the zoo. We drove to an amazing pet store in Melbourne called, Incredible Pets. They have all kinds of animals / pets. Snakes, gerbels, fish, squirrels, bunnies, ferrets, etc. We were even able to hold a bunny, which was fun! Ellie didn't hold it... but she had fun touching it!
Ellie loves to have the windows down in the car. So much so, that she turned sideways in her car seat to hang both her hands and her feet outside the window!
On the way back from the pet store, we stopped at Sonic for some milk shakes. Nothing says an amazing date like milk shakes to finish it off! I love being a dad to a little girl!
