Fathers Day

For Father's day we put the pictures below in a frame for Zac to hang at work. I think it turned out cute is will be fun to change out every year and see how the kids grow. We had a nice day. Zac slept in a little and we had waffles (eggo....I am such a slacker) for breakfast. We then headed to church and Zac got to use his dad powers to take the Noah out a few times. For family dinner we went to my sister's house and had stir fry and enjoyed the afternoon/evening together. We love Sundays around here.

Now for the tribute to dads. Zac is an amazing father. He loves his children so much and is always trying to improve that relationship. Often Zac will call me or share with me an experience where he has felt prompted to handle things with our kids in a different way. I then always see him act on that and start to implement the changes. My favorite sound to hear is Noah and Zac wrestling around and laughing together. There are just those fun things that mom can't do and you really need a good dad around to fulfill. Noah will often ask if daddy has to go to work and then when the response is yes he'll say..."aww....we'll miss him." Zac and Elle have a very special relationship too. She always shares great big smiles with him when he holds her after coming home from work. She repeatedly laughed for him on father's day which we have not heard her do over and over before. I feel so blessed to have married a man that wants nothing more the enjoy our family for the rest of eternity.

I also have a great dad and father-in-law. My dad has been diagnosed with parkinson's for 20+ years and has always had an amazing attitude about it. His progress has been very slow yet is now progressing and interfering with his quality of life. He recognizes this and does his best but is often embarrassed by it. It does not waver him in sharing the gospel however. There is always some employee in a store that my dad is "working" on. He is a great example of missionary work. Some of my fondest memories are of him taking me on bike rides to the duck pond.

Tom, my father-in-law is amazing as well. He is a true example of charity and love for others. He strives to always see the good in those that have struggled. Zac always tell me how when he and his brothers were teenagers his dad would always find a sudden interest in anything the boys did...golf, or football, or food:) He attended all of their events even if they conflicted with work. He loves his family and enjoys everyone just being home. We have had wonderful family councils where he has advised all in different areas of life and inspired us to do better and greater things. He and his wife have successfully raised 5 amazing young men and I can only hope we have those same joys in our life. I am so grateful for his love and example.
