Christmas in Houston

We left Christmas evening to fly to Houston. We have flown a lot with Noah but this was the first time flying since he can walk and if anyone has been around us, it is clear Noah is not one to sit on your lap and cuddle when there is space to be run through. We were dreading the flight but all went well. The plane was really empty and we were able to bring Noah's car seat on and he sat in it the whole flight quite content for the most part. Total miracle. We had a great time in Houston with the fam. Our official Christmas day was the 31st because all of Zac's brothers and wife/fiance were there by then. We had a great time opening our gifts although I am not sure how everyone felt about me instituting the "one person open one present at a time" rule. Everyone always gets their favorite cookies and the girls all get a pair of Christmas socks.

I had gotten super excited about the socks so on Noah's next turn he took the lead and got excited as well. He was well received.

Noah was in heaven being surrounded by so many people. One night we had a big family of 15 people come over and as soon as they walked in the doorway Noah ran in the middle of them, threw his hands up in the air and just smiled, laughed, and clapped so sure they were all there to see him!
Gramme totally spoiled us. Each morning Zac would bring Noah downstairs and Gramme would keep him while zac and I got to return to bed....heaven!
We got to visit with good friends we hadn't seen inn several years which is always fun.
We also played many games of Ticket to Ride which is pretty awesome.
We stayed up way too late many nights and Noah has developed some terrible habits. While there we had to share a room with him and he would wake up early (due to the time change) At home he usually sleeps straight through and if he does awake early we can plug his binky in and he'd lay back down and go back to sleep until 6:30 or 7. In Houston because we were in the room he wouldn't lay back down so to stop him from crying and waking the rest of the house we had to put him in our bed. So now that we are home he is waking up at 5:30/6 thinking this is the new routine. He also is now refusing to sleep in his crib (Started doing this with naps and now it is at night.) In Fact he cried last night for 2 1/2 hours before giving up. He has now been crying for 30 minutes for his nap and shows no sign of letting up. It is really killing me and I am not sure what to do. I cave with the naps and just put him in his stroller to sleep but now nights??? We have already been through crying it out and I am bummed to be back at it again. It's even worse now I think because he is so much more defiant and stubborn. Any suggestions before my heart breaks?
Anyways, besides these set backs we had a fabulous trip. On the plane home Noah didn't have his seat but the sweetest girl in the world was by the window and she let Noah crawl all over her and played with him the whole time.

Actually, he cried for 2 hours and 45 minutes last night and has cried for two hours and thirty minutes (and counting) during his afternoon nap the next day. He is a resilient little kid and we love him..., but he is taking years off his mother's life! I guess he just hates to miss any part of the day!
